day one-hip hop festival

Saturday was a cool day for me and hip hop. It was the annual brooklyn hip hop festival. A lot of legends and newcomers came to perfom.

Highlights
There was this one group which reminded me of the roc a fella as in jayz dame and the whole crew. The way they rap was the same style as freeway, beanie, memphis bleek and the young gunz. They was just a lot worse then the real roc on anyday of the week. Made bleek look a lot better in comparison to his knockoff.

Another highlight was the consequence performance. It was not crazy just unexpected. He was set to perform five songs and on the fourth sonmg he was notified that he had one song to go and wrap up his set. He was like "nah nah. We doing two more matter fact three more." Next thing the hip hop festival pulled the plug on him and his dj. No more audio for con until he behaved. After that they gave him back sound to perform one more song. I honestly felt that the bodega was not at fault. They did what they had to do and consequence was just being reckless especially when he didn't have the crowd behind him to back him up.

There was another performer by the name of blitz. This guy is good he has crazy energy. Even though he came on early he came strong and had the crowd with him they was on his side.

Kidz in the hall were ok was feeling double o when he supposedly made a beat from scratch. I don't know feel like that could have been staged. But he gets the benefit of the doubt. Rawkus records seems to be back in effect and stronger than ever.

The best performace was the shoalin monk himself. The wu-tang member known as Ghostface Killah aka Tony Starks aka the Iron Man aka Pretty Tony aka Ya Daddy. Okay maybe not the last one but you know who I mean. He had the whole crew with him not wutang but affilates of the wu. He performed like an 18 year old who was hungry for stardom. It was crazy I was all lost in it. Had 30 plus year old men jumping up and down like 12 year old school girls for lil bow wow back in the day. He was getting tired after like his tenth song and had to bring on fat joe. Joe crack was good too. He was unexpected but much a welcome. People either made a stink face or jumped up and down for him. Which is all good in my opinion. He did one song "new york" which was all good. My mans was like "what the fuck" but couldn't hate. Ghost came back on and was trying to do only one more song. When he was about to be out, J-Love (his dj) would drop another song after song. Bring the ruckus, ice cream, biscuit, run and so on till they were shutting the place down.

It was a good time no violence except for in the music. People were cool, kids from all ages youngins and adults all good fun. Madd pretty females a good supply of women. Lots of haze in the air people were getting their smoke on heavy. The herbal essence was heavy in the air. When I saw some of the females on that puff puff pass I was dissappointed.

P.S. This is all on the blackberry (8800).

I am out I might come back with pics or maybe not only time will tell. Peace!!!!!!
